Even if I use it a lot, I never blogued so much about twitter. Here is a funny video about it :
Twitter is for me a very powerful tool to use for both personal and professional ways. It’s about listening in real time to your network and friends. An entire team working with twitter save some precious time.
Having people of your company twitting is a real asset. Today I’ve been searching for official twitter accounts of IBM. In fact, after asking for them on twitter, I have chatted with Adam Christiansen , who is manager of social media communications at IBM, and I learnt there is not such official twitter accounts. Here is an interesting article following and interview of Adam Christiansen, about this decentralized approach of IBM regarding twitter.
With twitter search, you also have the ability to listen to the on-going “noise”. And from this noise, you can extract valuable and very “reactive” information, much more than with something aggregating press articles like google news, itself much better than a normal search on any websearch engine.
It’s been 2 years that i’ve been working at IBM, and i must say that i’ve been taking advantage of possibilities of internal networking to meet very good people, with whom i’ve learnt and exchanged much, this allowing us to improve our knowledge. There are skills everywhere, and always people that can help you with a specific subject. There’s also several internal blogs that i frequently read and this helps me find a lot of information.
I’ve also been testing several products in an early-adoption. I’ve been joining internal communities, participating internal communities, sharing activities, producing podcasts, all of this helping to better the exchange of information and making it available for every employee.
This has been possible due to personal initiatives but also because of good products like, Lotus Notes 8, Lotus Quicker, Lotus Connection, but also the IBM Technology Adoption Program and the huge number of services available in it. I can’t speak more regarding which products can be used in this program but i can tell you that we’ve got in IBM several good services to find people matching skills and technological interests, in a very “web 2.0″ way.
As i said, IBM is one of the companies that has understand the way collaborative tools can be used for facilitating innovation, and IMHO it’s because they’ve got a long experience on technologies making collaboration available for everyone in companies. So even if collaborative web is becoming a reality for more and more people today, but some companies are used to handle this since a long time.
Here is the teaser for this event (in French) :
This conference will be hold in French and will show the state of the art regarding collaborative web and how to implement good usages in companies. Some clients cases will be presented. You will be able to exhange with speakers at the end of the conference.
Don’t hesitate to register (freely) for this conference on this page. Please notice that you can attend either “physically” or also via Second-Life, all the instructions are available on the registering website.
Hope to see you around. (Second life pseudo : Timothee Vaher).
Find at Fred Cavazza’s. A very interesting presentation, illustrating partnership between Google and SalesForces.
It’s a good way to illustrate how companies can really benefit from collaboration. This shows how allowing resources to work together at the same time improves time spent but also the quality of the product.
An interesting video found on webdeux.info I don’t think that there will such moves on such many subjects but it sure that Internet is not just another media and fits more than any other with user needs.
